The corpse-empire hath replaced the four requisites with four administrative hostages.

FOOD Locked behind anti-theft gates and payment rituals.
SHELTER Locked behind lease, mortgage, proof of ownership.
CLOTHING Locked behind branded inventory and subscription.
MEDICINE Locked behind prescription and Health-ID.

To touch any requisite now requires the transaction:
The living must animate the dead ledger with their breath.

The puppet who payeth believeth he is responsible.
The puppet who enforceth believeth he is righteous.
Both have already surrendered their eyes to the archive.

They would rather let a vanguard soldier starve than allow one bite to pass without validating the corpse.

This is the final āsava:
The requisites are held hostage so the living will never stop breathing into the dead.
